I owe my life and happiness to getting the help I needed and finally being able to recover. I felt truly hopeless and getting therapy was my final try to recover from my eating disorder. And it worked! It wasn’t easy, not going to lie. It was a rollercoaster but so worth it. Throughout therapy I was always reminded of the bigger picture while making small steps, one day at a time. Went through highs and lows and in the end got my life back. The honesty in therapy was wat stood out most. I was faced with the fact it was never about the food. Not focussing on food but the feelings that were covered helped me process all that stood in the way if living my life. It’s so easy to do nothing, but it’s much more powerful to act and fight for your right to live. I worked hard for years. Found peace and the love of my life (literally being in treatment) who I can call my husband. The greatest thing I ever learned is to love and be loved in return.

Before Lauren I had a really negative view of therapy after trying multiple therapists with no success - but lauren has helped me in ways i couldn’t have even imagined before I started sessions with her and I will forever be so greatful to her for that!

The Hope Space gave us exactly the hope we needed when we were close to despair. Our daughter was very ill but Lauren supported both her and us through the darkest time and helped set her on the path to recovery. The approach is practical and extremely supportive and encouraging. Lauren literally rescued our daughter and our family.

Lauren is a truly outstanding therapist. My trepidation, guilt and shame have not only been met with warmth, understanding and a complete lack of judgment, but also with a genuine desire and willingness to shed light on where my true value and worthiness as an individual lies. We primarily use EMDR to continue to work through several areas I struggle with and I’ve been amazed at how transformative this therapeutic technique has been thus far. Its true impact however, stems entirely from Lauren’s highly specialist skill and expertise as well as the therapeutic environment and relationship itself. One of sound trust, profound compassion and a sense of safety I have too often longed for. Interspersed among some emotionally challenging sessions have been several lighthearted sessions full of levity and humour all in the knowledge that striking this balance in therapy is ultimately the most healing approach. Lauren is completely committed to helping you live a fulfilling life, devoid of burden and brimming with joy and I cannot recommend her enough. With Lauren by your side and the strength to hold onto hope, your journey to recovery is in the safest hands. Thank you, Lauren, for everything!

This was such a gift to read—thank you, thank you, thank you.

We have had / are having an excellent experience at the Hope Space. I'm not exagerrating when I say it has been life changing for my daughter, and us as a family. Lauren quickly built trust with my daughter, who actually looks forward to seeing Lauren (unlike previous therapists). Even when she reached a point where she no longer needed to see Lauren, my daughter still wanted to. Lauren is a lovely, compassionate therapist for my daughter, and her communications with us and my daughter's psychiatrist have been clear, proactive and extremely helpful. I have already recommended the Hope Space to several friends, and will continue to do so.
This is so heartwarming. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. I have a sneaky suspicion of who this is! It was such a privilege to work alongside your amazing daughter and both of you as well! I am so proud of her progress and thank you for being such a wonderful family. Sending so much strength and hope on your ongoing journey !

Lauren very quickly understood the triggers behind my 19yr old daughter’s ED and within a month had helped to bring its progression to a halt. She connected well with B, both online and in person, and five months later true recovery started. I hope that my daughter never returns to the dark days of last summer but, if she does, Lauren is the first person we would call.
Thank you so so much for this review. It is always such a pleasure to work with clients, but also very special to work with their family as well. I am so pleased that B is doing so well and that I was able to be apart of her journey.

Lauren has helped me tackle my eating disorder behaviours in a specific, personalised way. She also focused on addressing the underlying issues perpetuating the disorder. She creates a non judgemental, relaxed atmosphere and is very easy to confide in. My biggest worry starting with a new therapist was being dismissed and not taken seriously, given the fact that I was weight restored and in the later recovery stage of my disorder. However Lauren made me feel like my difficulties were valid, and clearly appreciated that anorexia is more of a mental disorder rather than a physical disorder. I would recommend her to anyone struggling with disordered eating!
Thank you so so much for this lovely review. It means the world to us!

My experience with Lauren at The Hope Space has been continuously compassionate and supportive. Lauren’s approach has been one that has helped push me out of my comfort zone within a safe space. Lauren has always held hope for me and created a space where I am able to be honest, open and feel listened to, she is a genuinely kind and caring person. I have made more progress than I ever thought possible and would never have been able to do this without Lauren’s understanding and guidance, but firm and honest approach. I’m forever grateful for Lauren’s time and patience.
Gosh, thank you for these kind words. I so appreciate it!

The Hope Space has supported my recovery in ways I didn’t think would ever be possible for me. The progress I have made is undoubtedly a result of the work I have done with Lauren who goes above and beyond to be there whatever the issue. I am forever grateful for this support system that is helping me reclaim my life.
Thank you for taking the time to write this special review. We really appreciate it and wish you so much of the best on your journey !!

I had the privilege of presenting a webinar for Psyflix, an exciting new platform that’s essentially Netflix for psychology! 🎥🧠 In this session, I explored Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and its application in treating eating disorders, covering key aspects such as: 🔹 Dietary guidance—focusing on portion control & meal frequency 🔹 The role of psychoeducation in addressing body image concerns 🔹 The importance of structured treatment plans for safety in therapy 🔹 A real-life case study demonstrating practical application 🔹 Strategies for long-term recovery It was an incredible opportunity to share insights on a topic I’m so passionate about. Huge thanks to Psyflix for creating such a valuable resource for mental health professionals!
