About The London Centre for Eating Disorders and Body Image

The London Centre is a specialist Mental Health clinic home to a team of Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Psychotherapists, Integrative Therapists, Dietitians, Nutritionists, Family Therapists, and Occupational Therapists dedicated to assisting individuals dealing with eating disorders and body image issues.

Prospective clients are encouraged to reach out with any inquiries via phone, email, or the online contact form, with initial contact typically handled by Kerry, the clinic's PA. Kerry ensures that enquiries are addressed promptly and accurately by consulting with the clinical team when needed.

Before the first session, clients may be asked to complete a brief questionnaire regarding their current situation, preferences, and availability, aiding in the process of matching them with the most suitable clinician.

Assessments are available at all clinic locations and typically last 50-60 minutes for individuals and 60-90 minutes for families. During these sessions, detailed information about the client's situation, history, and therapy goals is gathered to formulate personalised treatment recommendations and address any concerns.

Treatment duration varies for each individual, with typical durations ranging from 10-20 sessions for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), 16-20 sessions for bulimia, and 40 sessions for anorexia. Additional sessions may be recommended based on the severity and duration of the condition.

Weekly therapy sessions are common, although some clients may benefit from a more comprehensive treatment plan involving Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Family Therapy, or Medical Monitoring. Physical health monitoring may include blood tests, pulse and blood pressure checks, or medication management, coordinated with the client's NHS GP when necessary.

The London Centre offers support for various conditions, including Bulimia Nervosa, Anorexia Nervosa, Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorders, Emotional Eating, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), Body Dysmorphic Disorder, Binge Eating Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Low Self-Esteem, OCD, Trauma, PTSD, Perfectionism, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), and Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD).

I cannot thank you enough... At this point now that the treatment is over, it feels regular but looking back at where I was before founding out about this service, I was completely lost. To know that remote sessions are available across the globe was really a blessing as there are no treatment at all for my condition in my region. I felt very taken care of and never felt like I was "another client." I really felt treated and spoken to as an individual with my own problems to solve together. I never felt alone once I started the treatment and I am more confident than ever. So, thank you very much - you've really turned my life around for the better.

Neha was so kind and patient in our sessions. She was flexible with her approach to meet me where I was at different points during treatment. She helped me realise so much about myself and my responses to situations. Thank you, Neha!

I have poor mobility and find the stairs a problem. I prefer an in-person session! So we managed to have one session in the meeting room on the first floor and have done a couple by zoom

Thank you so much to Juliet Rosewall who helped my daughter get back on track. She’s doing brilliantly now. So thank-you. We had tried many ED specialists with PhDs who had caused so many issues and made things worse. So thank-you for your common sense approach.

I've been seeing your Trainee Psychologist Sharon and I really love her, I think she is an incredible clinician :) She has helped me massively over the last year and I have come on leaps and bounds with her support. She makes me feel comfortable, and no matter how bad my week has been, never fails to help me end the session feeling optimistic and ready to tackle the next challenge. I am truly grateful to have her as a therapist.

I was a bit worried about starting treatment but I had a really reassuring call with Mini who explained everything really well and was very supportive and encouraging. The booking process was straight forward and every interaction so far has been really positive - I think it's going to be life changing for me so I'm so glad I found The London Centre when I did.
