Dr. Aarohee Desai-Gupta is a highly accomplished and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist based in North London. With over a decade of experience, she has consistently delivered high standards of clinical care and treatment to her patients.

Currently, Dr. Desai-Gupta serves as a Visiting Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in General Adult Psychiatry at the Priory Hospital, North London. She is renowned for her expertise in treating individuals with treatment-resistant Anxiety and Depression, as well as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, using modern neuromodulation techniques such as Deep repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (Deep rTMS). At her Epping-based clinic, Atrom Mindcare, she utilises the latest technology to provide this innovative treatment.

In addition to her specialisation in anxiety and mood disorders, Dr. Desai-Gupta is proficient in diagnosing and treating Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in adults, as well as diagnosing Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Her expertise extends to serving as a Health Assessor and Medical Supervisor with the General Medical Council since 2019, where she conducts assessments for doctors with mental health issues.

Previously, Dr. Desai-Gupta held the position of Associate Medical Director (Interim: 2017-18 & 2019-20) within NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. During her time in the NHS since 2012, she gained extensive experience working with various Community Mental Health Teams, managing patients with acute and chronic, complex, enduring, and treatment-resistant mental health conditions.

Dr. Desai-Gupta is also actively involved in medical education and training. She has served as an Educational Supervisor for Psychiatric trainees and a Medical Student Tutor and Examiner with the Universities of London and Manchester. She is the founder of the ‘In-Sync' multi-professional simulation training program in Psychiatry, recognised with the ‘Innovative Training of the year 2017' award by University College London Partners (UCLP).

Furthermore, Dr. Desai-Gupta has been registered as a media spokesperson with the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 2010, providing expert guidance on various psychiatric topics to media professionals.

With a focus on helping adults with ADHD, treatment-resistant anxiety and depression, patients from ethnic minority groups, and women with mental health problems, Dr. Desai-Gupta is deeply committed to providing personalised and holistic care to her patients. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Mumbai, India, and holds a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Psychiatry from the University of Manchester. Her research interests include the relationship between spirituality and depression, and she has contributed to several research studies during her training years.
