Everything from admission to the hospital to the knee replacement to the after care was outstanding. A special thanks to Dr Ashwin Unnithan for the Excellent surgery on my knee, I highly recommend him.

At initial consultation he explained clearly the risks and benefits of having the operation and post-op advised about the healing and recovery process. Everything was clearly explained and very professional.
5
Very professional, very helpful. Gives you complete confidence which is important when undergoing a major procedure.

Dr Unnithan was very down-to-earth & practical which I very much like & respect. He answered all my questions & discussed fully all my options.
5
He was very informative and friendly and explained tings in a way that made the options very clear. The operation itself (insofar as I was conscious for it) seemed very well organized and a very smooth, painstakingly drilled, procedure. He was helpful to me always in making informed decisions, balancing risks against advantages, etc.

I’m completely confident with Mr Unnithan as my surgeon and if I found myself needing surgery again, I would request him. However, today’s appt. was the only one that I’ve had with him that’s been on time. He ranges 1-3 hours late. He is worth the wait though and his colleagues that saw me on the day of surgery and ward visits are a credit to him.

Mr Unnithan kept me informed of all the complications I would have due to my other medical issues including the fact I would need my surgery at St Peter’s for the additional care I needed. I therefore had excellent service and care from Mr Unnithan, his staff and all the other staff involved in my surgery. On my two week review, he was worried about the level of physio I would receive as it was Christmas and suggested additional physio and wearing the splint overnight for a longer period to assist in straightening my knee. This advice and action improved my recovery substantially so that I was walking unaided on my six week review. The scaring from my surgery healed well with the dissolving stitches used .

All the surgical team and nursing staff were so good. They are a little let down by the physio arrangements. The only surprise was about the tourniquet not really clear before the operation and was a little concerning on the post op ward until I was told what it was.
5
Professional, friendly, confident and very competent medic. Highly recommended.

Felt that mr Unnithan put me at ease before my operation, telling me exactly what was going to happen. He’s very professional. Exceptional after care
