I felt absolutely confident that Mr Hove wanted me to be fully informed about the procedure (YAG laser vitreolysis), and that the absolute minimisation of the possibility of any negative outcomes was at the forefront in his approach. I had travelled down from Glasgow via Heathrow and the whole process was quick and easy.

I went to Mr Hove for removal of multiple conjunctival naevus (both eyes). He explained the procedure very well and talked me through what to expect during the procedure and aftercare. He took the time to answer all my questions and made me feel very comfortable throughout. I came back a few months later to have the procedure again for a small part of the naevus that remained in one of my eyes - this was something I was informed may occur and my experience was again the same as previous - Mr Hove was very professional, supportive and reassuring. I would highly recommend Mr Hove as the care and professionalism he showed were exemplary.

Mr Hove performed my bilateral cataract surgery with Galaxy lenses 2 weeks ago. The care and attention I received from him has been outstanding. He spent quite some time with me at my initial consultation explaining everything clearly and in detail, his manner made me feel very safe. He gave me a mobile number to contact him directly with any questions or concerns and I did use it a couple of times and got an instant reply. I was amazed that he called me on bank holiday Good Friday to check on me the day after my surgery, it was so reassuring to be able to check a couple of things that were bothering me. He called me again on the Saturday as I had been concerned about an issue and offered for me to see him the next working day. I did not need to do this as fortunately my issue resolved itself but i felt so well looked after and being able to speak directly to my surgeon made a big difference to my recovery and any anxiety I had. My vision at my check up yesterday was better than 20/20 I am truly astonished at how well I can see. Mr Hove made a point of speaking to me when he saw me in the waiting area even though I was there to see the ophthalmologist. Mr Hove has a wonderful demeanour and is rightly proud of his excellent reputation.

Mr Hove, I just wanted to say thanks for the Cataract surgery you did for me at Spamedica Sayers Common Hassocks. You did both eyes and today after having my right eye done (only yesterday morning!) I am driving as normal with perfect vision! - just some reflections as I had in the left eye while it heals. Thanks very much. I also liked your choice of music! I am a signed music producer to SONY/EMI /APM and make the same music! I'm also a plumbing and heating engineer with a bathroom fitting company so this will really help me as I was suffering with the cataracts. I had laser eye surgery with Blue Fin Vision. The service I received from Dr Hove was excellent and his expertise was evident both during my surgery and in my check-ups. I had epithelial disruption in the flap in one eye that had resolved by day 1 and life without glasses has been great!

My whole experience with Mr Hove, and Blue Fin Vision was seamless. Very soon after making my enquiry, I was contacted by the practice manager and had an appointment for an assessment and eye screening within days. Mr Hove was extremely thorough, and talked me through every aspect of the procedure I required, which was lens replacement surgery. He talked me through any risks, pros (many) and cons (few). He was also able to talk about the procedure from the perspective of the patient, as he has had lens replacement surgery himself. This point was really interesting to me, as he has the same Carl Zeiss lenses in his eyes as he uses for his patients. I opted for the trifocal Carl Zeiss lens, as Mr Hove was so pleased with the improvement in his vision, and I'm delighted to say that post-surgery, I feel the same way. In all, the consultation was thorough, and reassured me that I was being dealt with by an expert. On top of this, Mr Hove has excellent people-skills, and I felt I would be in great hands. I booked in for my surgery two weeks later as I was busy, but it could have been earlier if I'd wanted it to be. Mr Hove operates in the Weymouth Street Hospital, and again, my experience there was first rate. The general and nursing staff are professional and pleasant to deal with. My room was also very well equipped, and the menu had a good selection. My husband also ate with me, at no extra cost, which was a nice touch! The surgery itself was fast and professional. I have conjunctival nevus for more than 10yrs and it really bugged me. I found this clinic in a very random time, and im ending up being surprised and satisfied!! Really grateful!

Mr Hove was very reassuring and took the time to explain the procedure at put me at ease. Although I know that he carries out many of these during his busy week, he his friendly manner made me feel as though I was a person and not just another patient passing through.
