About Mr Gokulan Ratnarajan
Mr Gokulan Ratnarajan is a skilled Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon. His specialist interests are cataract surgery and comprehensive glaucoma surgery. He is also active in research, with interests in innovations in glaucoma surgery, innovations in cataract surgery and optimising patient pathways for glaucoma and cataract care.
Mr Ratnarajan graduated from University College London and completed his Ophthalmology training in Oxford. He has an MD research degree which he completed at The Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. He has three specialist fellowships in glaucoma and anterior segment surgery at The Oxford Eye Hospital, The Western Eye Hospital in London and the world-renowned fellowship at the University of Toronto, Canada. His many years of education and experience make him an expert in his field.
Mr Ratnarajan has many affiliations and memberships including Royal College of Ophthalmologist, UK Glaucoma Society and European Society of Cataract Surgeons. He has also received the awards UK Cataract Surgery aware 2015: Gold Medal, UK Cataract Surgery award 2015: Best paper and UK Glaucoma Society 2015: Best Poster. He has also published in many peer reviewed scientific journals. He also lectures to GP's and Optometrists about Cataract and Glaucoma Surgery.

Dr Ratnarajan discussed different lens options and I opted for the ones which meant, no more driving or reading glasses. I'm glad I had both eyes done together, about 30mins each eye. It did not hurt and I was told what was happening at every stage. The staff were lovely and I was home after a few hours. It's incredible that I now have 20/20 vision. Money well spent.

I can see! After 55 years of severe myopia I no longer need corrective lenses. I’m free of contacts and my world is so much lighter! Thank you Mr Ratnarajan! I also suffer from glaucoma which was scary at first but with Mr Gok I have always felt reassured and in the safest of hands. I cannot praise him highly enough. Also a word for the cataract nurses at Mcindoes - I didn’t need handholding 😂 but they were all very lovely
