Could not fault my treatment at all everyone at the hospital was very professional and considerate the highest praise that I can give is that I don’t think that I would have had any better treatment if I had gone private

Mr Agrawal has carried out total knee replacements on both of my knees. On each occasion he was very professional. He fully explained the procedure, advantages and any complications that could arise. He visited me both before and after each operation to reassure me and check all was well. He was very friendly and explained everything in an easy to understand manner. He was willing to answer any questions I had and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. On each occasion I was told the waiting time was 3 - 6 months. However, much to my delight, I was admitted well before this.

Foolishly for many years I put off having a knee replacement. Last summer it rendered me almost immobile and I could only get about on crutches. X-rays showed how bad it had got and I was referred to the ROH. The triage team put me on the waiting list for Mr Agrawal. What a wonderful person he is! I could sense from my assessment visit I was in good hands. He was patient, understanding and put me at ease, answering all my questions. Surgery on the 5th March went well, and every evening Mr Agrawal came onto the ward to see how his patients were progressing. The staff on ward 4 were wonderful and the day after discharge I received a visit from a member of the hospital's home care team which was really reassuring. ROH epitomises all that is great about our NHS. I have a lovely straight knee now and only a very faint scar. The physios are very pleased with my progress and I can walk short distances unaided. I am one happy 86 year old patient and this has transformed my quality of life. Once again, many thanks to the skill of this brilliant surgeon, his team and all the staff at ROH.
